F.A.Qs - as answered by the Director of Phoenix Building Services
Q.
Do you have samples of work I can look at or customers I could speak to who have had similar works done.
A.
Yes certainly. We are fortunate to have a solid client base who have voiced their willingness to speak to prospective clients about our work ethic and service.
Q.
Will the price I am quoted be the price I pay?
A.
Absolutely. We always provide a detailed specification with all our quotations giving allowances for major purchases, i.e. tiles and sanitary ware, etc., which puts you in control of the expenditure for much of the material content. The only time a quotation will vary is if a client alters a specification which could result in an additional cost or equally a reduction.
Q.
Will you give a definite date for commencing my project and once the works start will it be continual. Some builders make a start, leave a few tools and then disappear for a week.
A.
You are right to ask this question, this does happen. Gladly I can say not with Phoenix. We give a date to start, the work is continual, and unless the specification is increased by the client, finish at our estimated completion date.
Q.
What if something goes wrong with the works after I have paid and you have moved on to another project. How hard will it be to get you back to put it right?
A.
I would not insult anyone’s intelligence and suggest nothing ever goes wrong, of course it does. Thankfully not often, but it is the nature of the beast. We pride ourselves on our post project service to our clients but don’t take our word for it, speak to our previous customers, get it from the horse’s mouth. I often believe that the best gauge of a good contractor is to see how they operate when things do not go to plan. Do they avoid your calls, break appointments, ignore and frustrate you or simply act as a reputable contractor should and put right whatever is causing the problem Once again refer to our clients, they will speak for us.
Q.
If I want to make alterations to my project after you have started, will this be a problem?
A.
Not at all, a project can be a fluid thing that evolves after it is started. It may well be that aspects become apparent to you as the works develop that you had not thought of previously. In either case you as the client are in complete control. We will offer input and advice throughout if required.
